Daycare staffers’ lives and the lives of children in the daycare centers are at risk. I'm asking for your support. Daycares need to remain closed hopefully until there is an effective therapeutic, cure or vaccine.  No social distancing is possible when working with little children. Close contact is unavoidable. Little ones, by no fault of their own cannot cover sneezes or coughs. They cannot possibly wear masks. Meals can't possibly be shared in the manner in which daycares customarily carry them out. Viruses and diseases spread easily even with the most stringent cleaning/disinfecting protocols. In my tenure I've contracted and the children have contracted everything from pink eye to the flu to hand, foot and mouth disease.  COVID-19, a potentially deadly pathogen can also spread.  Please know that I understand that parents rely on daycares and preschool, even schools to watch over their children while they work. I am not lost on that reality. I'm asking for time. Opening now or too soon could prove deadly. Science does not nearly know enough about COVID-19.  It knows even less as it pertains to children. Any support you can provide will be deeply appreciated.
