Petition updateSTOMP: Save Trees Over More Pavement. Stop the Indiscriminate Removal of Trees Lining County Roads in Nassau (Including S. Oyster Bay Road)STOMP Update and Next Steps

OPERATION STOMPSyosset, NY, United States
Nov 13, 2014
Updated Mission!
STOMP’s goals are to save South Oyster Bay Road and all Nassau County tree-lined roads from indiscriminate environmental destruction.
Thank you!
Thank you to all that signed the petition and donated to the cause thus far. Thanks to you, Operation STOMP was able to initiate legal efforts. We have also created awareness through rallies and meetings with legislators, using written and video materials. Our materials educate unaware residents of the project and legislators on ADA compliant, environmentally friendly, cost-effective alternatives to the complete destruction of decades old trees along county roads.
Major News and Set Backs.
Operation STOMP lost the chance to have its day in court when our 4th judge moved to lift the Temporary Restraining Order, denying us a hearing. Unfortunately, our first fundraising goal has not been met. As a result, we are not able to move forward with this effort. This has not stopped our work. If you have an expertise in this area, we would like to speak with you!

Rally! Please Join Us to Rally and Spread the Word!
Sunday November 16th 11-1pm STOMP-fest Info-Blitz
Meet at Starbucks Parking lot / Intersection of South Oyster Bay and Woodbury Road.
(Plainview Shopping Center Location)
Please invite your friends, fellow neighborhood supporters and family.
Street Team Volunteers.
Can’t make the rally? Operation STOMP is actively seeking “street teamers” to go door to door with flyers alerting residents of the County’s efforts. Please get in touch if you’d like get a group together in your neighborhood and volunteer. We will provide you with written materials and tips. * This is especially needed as many trees slated for destruction are NOT marked with and “X” – leaving resident unaware.
*And finally, let us thank you again. Whether you have signed the petition, come to a rally, donated your time, energy or means we thank you for joining us in these efforts.
