The Issue

Jason Witcher, a New Jersey Municipal court judge, was threatened with removal from the bench this week after he pointed out the alleged discrimination of Latino defendants in his Cumberland County courtroom. All of whom were required to come to court for in - person hearings, while others were given the option of virtual court hearings per this article published by nj.com. After months of seeing this consistency with Latino defendants. Judge Witcher raised concerns with court administrators behind the scenes. However, with no pertinent or justifiable answer to his questions, Judge Witcher voiced his concerns in open court.

After doing so, Witcher received an email from Assignment Judge Benjamin Telsey - who oversees all court operations in Cumberland, Salem, and Gloucester counties. The email threatened to remove Witcher from the bench regarding an unrelated issue. For more details on this story please refer to the article published by nj.com We ask that you sign this petition to not only stand against this unjustifiable discrimination of these Latino defendants.

But to stop the injudicious removal of Judge Witcher from the bench. In addition, we must also bring awareness to the injustices that are still taking place in our communities. Judge Jason Witcher has served as a municipal court judge for more than 12 years. He risked his career to be a voice for the voiceless.

We ask that you do the same. Use your voice to bring this story to the national forefront. The entire country, as a matter of fact, the entire world must be aware of these injustices.

Please sign this petition and spread the word.

WE MUST BE THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE!!!
