Please join us in asking Judge Malloy to reopen Julian's deportation proceedings, so that Julian can remain in the US while he continues his process of becoming a legal immigrant.
On May 22, 2017, Felix Yulian Motino-Anariba -- better known as Julian to his friends and family -- was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers while taking an important step towards gaining legal immigration status. Julian and his wife of 2 years, Alexis, were at the Cincinnati ICE office to complete the I-130 Petition. This goal of this meeting was to establish the relationship between Alexis, a native citizen of the US, and her husband Julian, who was not. However, what should have been a joyous day soon turned to dread. Immediately after the interview was completed and the petition approved, Julian was unexpectedly taken into custody by ICE officers. He has since been held in detention centers in fear of immediate deportation.
For the past 12 years, Julian has been a productive and valued member of his community. He works full time, pays taxes, and has no criminal record. He is involved in local sports teams and is a wonderful teammate, friend, neighbor, husband, and father. He provides and cares for his two children from a previous relationship, who rely on him financially and emotionally. Though the children's mother has primary custody, he is an extremely engaged father who visits faithfully on the weekends and on extended visits.
Julian initially arrived in the US without inspection, but wanted nothing more than to become a legal immigrant and full US citizen. While taking those first steps towards this goal, he was detained and now faces the threat of deportation and becoming severed from his children, his wife and his home. This event has been traumatic for Julian as well as everyone who knows him.
We are asking for your support to respectfully ask Judge Rosalind Malloy to approve of the Motion to Reopen Julian's case and revoke the deportation order. This will enable Julian to remain with his family and friends while he continues his process of becoming a legal immigrant.
Thank you for your support.
