“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education.” Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As we reflect today on the life and legacy of Dr. King and his passion for equality and education, we are happy to share a NEW interview for one of the most recent literacy projects we have helped publish this year.

Over 22 years ago, Robert T. Hinds was wrongfully convicted of first-degree murder at the age of 17. Mr. Hinds has maintained his innocence for over two decades now and will soon have his day again in court, where we believe a gross injustice will finally be corrected.

Determined to turn lemons into lemonade, Mr. Hinds shares in this encouraging interview how his wrongful conviction of murdering a local music studio owner inspired his latest project "The Vault: A Simple Guide for Building Your Entertainment Empire" and why he is giving the book away for free to the community for two days this week.

Mr. Hinds has inspired thousands with his life story, including many urban and at-risk youth as he continues to fight for his exoneration.
