In 2001, Wayne County sentenced Robert T. Hinds to life in prison without parole. 23 years later Robert is still fighting the Michigan Criminal Justice System to prove his innocence and to right a gross injustice.

In this recent magazine issue of Canvas Rebel, Robert's story of his wrongful conviction as a juvenile, struggle with illiteracy upon entering prison at the age of 17, and journey to better himself through education is used to help inspire people across the country.
