Ask Judge Jack Tuter to Approve the Expedited Hearing Request to Reinstate FPUC in Florida

Ask Judge Jack Tuter to Approve the Expedited Hearing Request to Reinstate FPUC in Florida
The Issue
Honorable Judge Tuter,
Terminating FPUC in Florida has put Florida residents at risk of eviction, reposessions, and even homelessness. Florida has the second lowest weekly benefit payout in the nation, making it impossible to survive on less than $275 per week, especially amidst a global pandemic and at the mercy of a broken system that rarely issues benefits in a timely manner.
Please, for the sake of our survival, expedite our hearing and reinstate FPUC temporarily until the State of Florida and our attorneys have their day in court.
We, the citizens of Florida, implore you to consider the consequences of not moving quickly on this case or reinstating these critical federal benefits.
Our State terminated FPUC with little to no notice while we are still struggling to find adequate work and await promised rental assistance that remains unpaid. Florida is now the epicenter of the new COVID-19 surge and the CDC has extended the Eviction Moratorium to October. It is clear that the federal government sees we are in dire straights.
Judge Tuter, on August 9th, please do right by unemployed Floridians who were blind sideded by the state’s decision to terminate FPUC. Without it, we will not be able to make it and lose the little we have left.
With the utmost respect.
