Lindsey Polen started this petition to Judge Don W. Fraser

This petition is to let the judge know that we want Bret Collins to be given the maximum sentence allowable for whatever his charges end up being! Please sign to show your support and pass on to others!

Bret Collins is being charged with two counts of felonious cruelty to companion animals which is considered a fifth-degree felony in the state of Ohio and carries a max sentence of only twelve months in prison. Unfortunately, the maximum sentence is rarely dished out and by law requires that the defendant meet certain criteria - prior felony convictions, a firearm being involved, the defendant holding office or a position of trust, or the victim suffering serious physical harm. Since Bret was originally convicted of his felonious sexual assault as a minor, we cannot guarantee that his charge will be taken into consideration for this case. Bret also has an open case for three counts of fourth-degree felony counterfeit and needs to be found guilty of those to increase the chances of a maximum sentence being given in the cruelty case.

The pre-trial for the counterfeit case is March 4, 2020 at 10:30AM. According to the discovery the state has sixteen witnesses for the case. Although our main focus is the cruelty trial, those wanting to attend this trial as well are obviously more than welcome since we want the courts to know that we firmly believe he is a general danger to society.

The pre-trial for the two counts of cruelty to companion animals is March 25, 2020 at 9:45AM. It is my hopes that many members of the community with show up in support of the kittens that do not have a voice themselves and let the court know, without a shadow of a doubt, that the Marysville community WILL NOT tolerate those that abuse or kill innocent animals and that we want those that do to be given the maximum sentence allowable by law. He could be given two years in prison and although that’s not enough to bring any sort of justice to those poor kittens, it will at least send a message to Bret and any other animal abusers that our community does not stand for it!
