Case continues to be delayed in the name of COVID, while other cities proceed with trials

In Minnesota today, the opening statements of the George Floyd case is being heard, some 10 months after his death.  Firstly, I'd like to say that I am so glad that a swift trial is happening.  Because justice needs to be served.  And this also shows that trials can be held in times of COVID.  So, I ask, why is my daughter's case still being delayed, now over 2 years after she and her unborn baby [which the murderer is not being charged for] were killed?  Why?????
