Seville, Andalusia: struggling horses shunted endlessly over cobbled roads with heavy carriages. They all have mouth bits to torture tender oral areas, and make them move when exhausted. I saw horses with foam around their mouths, swinging their heads frantically and writhing in pain from the bits, trying to remove them, which they clearly cannot.  Some were terrified of humans. 

I plead with Spanish authorities to ban the use of bits. Torture should not be used as a means to control working animals. The horror of these torture devices surely paints an ugly picture of Spain to many tourists. Publicly abused, and exhausted horses surely spoils the experience of Seville. We need to end all animal exploitation and maltreatment.

I live and work in Spain and can see these miserable animals suffering whenever I'm in Seville, also the lack of necessity for this in the modern world. There are alternatives that equally create an income, such as 4 wheeled, covered family bike rental, and small electric vehicles.
