Attendees of previous HIMSS conferences have reported inappropriate behavior that made them uncomfortable, most often involving unwelcome sexual attention or inappropriate remarks from attendees, exhibitors, or presenters. Many conferences have published a code of conduct that sets expectations and provides ways to report exceptions and to act on them in providing a safe, welcoming environment.

HIMSS should work with its members to develop an anti-harassment policy for its official events and have it in place by HIMSS17.
