Twenty-one events are scheduled at the Heymann Center in the next couple of months generating thousands of tax dollars in the Lafayette community. All dance studios have diligently worked with the Heymann staff to safely follow social distancing rules for all constituents. 

Canceling these events is robbing the community of thousands of tax dollars, robbing thousands of dancers from showcasing their years’ worth of hard work, and robbing the joy of the arts from thousands who find it a necessary expression. It is in fact a need, not a want. Lafayette is known for its richness in the arts.

Here is the community’s plea to keep the Heymann Center open.
