The reason we started the petition on change.org is because licensed insurance agent Alan R. Bush who works for Parker Group in Bedford Indiana had grossly inappropriate communication and relationship with my daughter when she was a minor.  During 2012 insurance agent Alan Bush attempted to persuade our minor daughter to send him nude pictures and do other things via Facebook messaging over the course of several months.  Alan Bush used a computer from Parker Group to send some of these messages to our underage daughter. Alan Bush has known our daughter since she was about 14 years old and I received life insurance quotes from Alan Bush for our daughters.  At one point my brother and sister were clients of agent Alan Bush.  From the Facebook messages it is clear insurance agent Alan Bush was grooming, enticing and coercing our daughter for his own "prurient sexual desires" to quote what State Senator Steele stated in an article published in the Times-Mail.  After several months and thousands of Facebook messages and texts Alan was able to convince our daughter to let him take her virginity. 

We are asking the Indiana State Legislature to add an age gap provision to Indiana's age of consent law.  Current Indiana law allows an adult of any age to have sexual relations with a child who has attained the age of 16.  There are 10 states where the age of consent is 16 with no age gap provision.  This means for example: an adult age 40 can have a sex and a dating relationship with a child age 16 and according to the law it is okay.  Indiana has no age gap provision to protect children between the ages of 16-18 from much older adults.
