Keep Loveman Village out of the Oxmoor Neighborhood

The Issue

Town Hall Meeting with the HABD about Loveman Village moving into the Oxmoor Neighborhood June 2 at 6 PM Oxmoor Community Center Townhall meeting on the Loveman village housing project moving to Oxmoor. Sponsored by Michael Lundy, Housing Authority Birmingham Division Councilor Jay Roberson will be in attendance. It is important for us as a community to show up and have our voices heard, Loveman Village is a high crime housing project that they are wanting to move 120 units to our neighborhood off of Sydney Drive, just down the road from the our new elementary school. This not only will bring crime and other dangers but will tax an already overwhelmed intersection on lakeshore. Our neighborhood has 1 officer that patrols at a time, and his patrol area is rather large. If the residents of Oxmoor had not learned of this from the news HABD, might have never come forward. The city councilman and the Neighborhood Association was kept in the dark about this from the start. Don't ruin our neighborhood just to make another look good on paper, the crime won't stop once they are in Oxmoor. Below are just some of the news articles and even a AE tv show about Loveman Village. Please share the word, we need everyone to show up and let the city know we do not want crime like this moving into our neighborhood, taking over our streets, and putting us at risk. http://www.aetv.com/shows/the-first-48/season-13/episode-26/after-the-first-48-no-love-in-loveman-villagehttp://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/09/man_shot_at_birminghams_lovema.htmlhttp://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2014/09/man_critically_injured_in_shoo.htmlhttp://abc3340.com/news/local/birmingham-police-3-shot-in-loveman-village-1-in-critical-conditionhttps://birmingcabbie.wordpress.com/tag/loveman-village/http://www.bhamwiki.com/w/Loveman_Villagehttp://www.wbrc.com/story/31514639/birmingham-police-arrest-26-in-public-housing-sweephttp://weldbham.com/blog/2015/12/17/murder-in-the-magic-city-the-crime-fighters/http://www.wtvm.com/story/31075092/birmingham-councilwoman-voices-frustration-with-crime-in-her-districthttps://news.wbhm.org/feature/2016/crime-around-birmingham-targeting-the-violence/http://www.rpcgb.org/news/2012/03/loveman-village-titusville-residents-discuss-redevelopment-proposal.phphttp://www.imaginebham.com/uploads/1/4/4/7/14479416/march29presnovps.pdf
