Shut Down SeaWorld
The Issue
Source: seaworldofhurt.com, P.E.T.A.
SeaWorld is a awesome looking place for any animal lover. Fun shows, rides, food, and entertainment, But, behind all of these curtains there is a very dark secret hiding. It isn't just a few mistreated animals, it is constant, daily animal abuse, just to make a buck. It truly disgusts me. These poor animals are crammed into tanks that are way smaller than they should be. This causes tensions to run high and cause some major injuries/fights. Many Orcas will also shatter their teeth trying to chew on the metal bars/concrete walls on their undersized tank, which then staff will drill out the teeth to prevent infection. Good thing, right? Maybe if they used sedation! This leads staff members to drugging these poor animals because they are always in a constant frenzy, because of how poor their living conditions are. There is also some very disgusting actions done for reproduction, and I choose not to go into details, but it is horrible. It teaches kids that touching and seeing wild animals in captivity is normal. Among with other details, you can tell this is not a one time stint. Over 40 Orcas have died at SeaWorld, and many other traumatized animals. Hundreds of them. This also makes the animals angry, putting the staff in danger. In conclusion, this business should not be supported. It makes the world a worse place, for both animals, and humans.
**For more details I recommend the documentary Blackfish**
