Petland is a well-known pet store. They sell all sorts of dogs, from purebreds to designer crosses, and charge from $2,000 to $10,000 USD per puppy. It’s interesting why the price is so high, because Petland, however reputable it may seem, is covering up that it is the largest retailer of puppy mill dogs. Sick puppies are regularly sold there, unbeknownst to buyers, and then future owners are lied to by clerks. Some puppies bought from Petland don’t survive their first month with their new owners, leading to quite a few lawsuits.

Although Petland’s breeders are “USDA inspected”, the truth is, the USDA guidelines leave plenty of room for error, such as the rule that a dog in a breeding facility does not need to ever leave their cage if it is twice the dog’s size.
