Make Sea Turtle Egg Harvesting Illegal

Make Sea Turtle Egg Harvesting Illegal
Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles are one of the most endangered turtle species with approximately 7,000 to 9,000 turtles today. The Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles mostly inhabit the Gulf of Mexico in mostly United States of America territory.
The problem needing solved is the harvesting of turtle eggs for food or collection of the egg shells. Harvesting the eggs of Sea Turtles ensures that the population of the Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles will rapidly decline. These turtles are having their eggs harvested to be eaten. There is a fertilized baby turtle in each egg that is laid and that baby turtle embryo is being consumed by humans for eating pleasure.
Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles are classified as "critically endangered" by many wildlife organizations around the world, and there is no sign of a potential rapid incline in the population. If this petition gets enough signatures and goes to the intended recipient, a law should be passed stating that harvesting turtle eggs is animal cruelty, poaching, and heavily endangering a near extinct species.
My reason for caring so much is the ecosystem needs the turtles to balance out the diversity of predators and prey. Without the turtles, the entire system falls into disarray with more predators killing off prey or too many prey and less predators surviving. Please take the time to sign the petition and bring back the population of the Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles!
