Please restore our faith in legal immigration. We are US citizens claiming our family members legally. The wait times are increasing more every day and we don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. A process that would take 1 year or less to be with our spouse and immediate family members is taking more than 1 year just in the USCIS stage and in some cases up to 3. In my example, it is one year in USCIS and 2 years to wait for an interview to be available in the US embassy of Guyana for my husband. We are spending thousands of dollars by visiting our families, instead of having more financial help at home we are short one person that can be contributing to the household and the country, we are apart from the ones we love most, all these things bring so many problems to our relationships, our finances, and our mental health. We paid our fees and it is our right as citizens to be able to bring our families legally in a reasonable time. We need for this process not to take so long. We shouldn't have to wait 3 years to be together by taking the legal route when people are crossing the border and are able to be together right away by illegal immigration. We all feel like the government is rewarding illegal immigrants and punishing their own citizens that are doing things right. When will this change? How will it change? Someone needs to provide answers.
