The Issue

Good Morning.

I write this as a concerned citizen for the direction of my once beloved City Austin, Texas. I moved out years ago with my family because on account of how bad it's become. A Little backstory for why this is personal. Several years ago, One of my best friends was Murdered the night after Christmas. Miranda Lopez. Who was the prosecutor in this case? None other than you guessed it, Jose Garza. Who Denied her parents Rose and JR the opportunity to take this to court and give their victim impact statements. Basically went Rogue and decided to Make a ruling on the case when the crimes were First degree murder and capital murder. 15 years And deportation for Jonathan Zavala And Manuel Huerta when it needed to be Life in Prison or the chair. Ever since then I have followed the state of the city very closely and I have to be honest, I'm very concerned and it has only gotten worse under the current city leadership and Jose Garza who thinks repeat offenders need help but here's what he doesn't understand or refuses to see, the repeat offenders clearly don't want to be helped. Because otherwise they wouldn't be doing this nonsense. Jose Garza, Kirk Watson, and the rest of the *sighes* woke city Leadership refuse to take accountability for their failures and instead they continue to double down on it and Austin continues to suffer for it. Campus, Mueller, Downtown, You name it. I have people there in the city who I still very much care about and I would like to see them and their loved ones be able to enjoy their lives in Austin. I would also like every other law abiding citizen I

And their loved ones to be able to enjoy life in Austin and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Austin is a wonderful beautiful city that has a lot to offer but the city does have a dark side to it and as Johnny Cash once said "What goes on in the dark will be brought to the light."

The reason I sighed earlier is because I didn't want to have to use the term woke but unfortunately it is true. But the truth is crime has no political affiliation. Radicalism is only making the city worse. Crime doesn't care if you're left, right or a centrist (I'am a hardcore centrist by the way). Yes I know people deserve their rights but the biggest right that everyone deserves is the freedom to safety and if the crime in Austin prevents all law abiding citizens that right, then crime does not deserve to have rights anymore. That is not what Austin is about anymore. I've seen many horror stories about the stuff people have posted about their experiences on twitter/x that the news refuses to cover. That the city leadership and Mr. Garza know about and refuse to truly act on or they just don't care enough to act on. Jose Garza can say all he wants that these people who commit the crimes deserve the right to help but the facts are facts and it is clear as day that these repeat offenders have refused that right so their only rights now is to be locked up and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I've seen many things happen to this once beloved city over the years but after the W. 6th street shootings months ago, the recent shootings this past weekend, The Brianna Aguilera case etc when is enough going to be enough.

So I write this to bring awareness to what is going on, and to bring every single person former and current citizen of Austin who has had enough of what has happened to our beloved city together to call on Gov. Abbott to truly do something to put an end to this and recall Jose Garza. It is time to put politics aside and come together on this one. Our city is broken and it's time to truly bring change.

One last thing before I close,
Governor Abbott if you are reading this, I know I criticized you in the past but I've always praised you when it comes to Law and Order. If you truly speak of law and order and don't want Texas to become california, the time has come for you to do something to repair our beautiful city and I mean truly. Don't just talk the talk. Walk the walk and we will be watching.

I ask everyone reading this before they sign the petition, do you want to continue supporting the crime or do you want true change? Because here's a little prospective for you, if any of these criminal activities were happening and YOU or YOUR Loved ones were the victims, if you were a supporter of the crimes, well you probably wouldn't be afterwards if it was you suffering at the hands of that.

Together, it's time to Say Jose Garza MUST GO!!!!!! And it's time to Save Austin For Real.
