Create a safe bike route to Classical High School through downtown Providence

The Issue

In fall 2017, I hope to attend Classical High School. It’s only about a mile and a half from my house, so it should be an easy bike ride. The problem is, all of the possible routes have at least one or two sections downtown that aren't safe for biking.

I am asking the city to make the following safety improvements:
  (1) add bike lanes to the Washington Street bridge over I-95;
  (2) make the intersection of Washington and Empire Streets bike-friendly; and
  (3) eventually, install protected bike lanes along all of Washington Street.

If the city does this, it will be safer for all the kids who want to bike to Classical and the two other schools right next to it (Central High and PCTA), as well as for grown-ups who bike to work downtown. It will also make our city cleaner and more fun to get around in.
