During the Covid-19 pandemic all animal transports between countries need to stop. The pandemic has caused massive delays of animal transports at borders between EU countries. Some transports have experienced delays of up to 18 hours with live animals loaded. While this puts the animals at great risk for harm the EU commission in their "Guidelines for border management measures" are insistent that agricultural export needs to continue even in light of extenuating circumstances caused by the pandemic. 

On March 19th, several animal rights organisations published a letter to the EU-commission where they urge them to stop all animal transports during the Covid-19 crisis. On April 7th, the Swedish Minister for Rural Affairs, Jennie Nilsson, responded that Sweden does not intend to stop the export or transports of animals between EU and non-EU countries at the time, even with all of the consequences of delayed transportation in mind. 

Please sign this petition urging Sweden, and other EU countries to maintain safety standards and regulations by stopping all transportations of animals during the pandemic.
