No on Montana Senate Bill No. 143

The Issue

Montana Senate Bill No. 143 is proposing a dangerous and potentially irreversable change to how Montana allocates non-resident hunting tags. It proposes outfitters be granted up to 60% of non-resident  Class B-10 and Class B-11 licenses. If passed this would result in loss of hunting oppourtunity for average everyday people looking to come to Montana to hunt with friends or family. In addition it will incentivize private lands that allow hunting to the public to shut down and to be leased to outfitting. Lastly there is a real potential to lose large amounts of Block Managment Areas that curretnly allow hunting to the public. This is a large step to privatizing the state's wildllife for a pay to play system.
