The Damage Of Unsustainable Palm Oil!

Our unique orangutans are getting sabotage, we are sabotaging them. PLEASE LABEL PALM OIL

Our environment has been washed due to us; we destroy around 300 football-sized fields every hour which will cause our forest, our living plants to be bulldozed but think where do we get our food our source of life from? Around 6000 tonnes of carbon dioxide are released into house and cities which can cause climate change, in Indonesian around 6 million hectares have already been cleared, a further 4 million is planned.

Since 2009 Victoria zoos have been trying to change the laws by making a campaign, If we label palm oil on items it will cause pressure on manufacturers to clean up their cause and effect and will make us citizens have a second thought about buying things that contain palm oil, palm oil is biodiversity when we cut trees that are homed to our animal's, we guise of palm oil and we say it's vegetable oil’ how do you feel about palm oil now?

Around 45 million people lived in the forest in Indonesia but in 2011 one of the world’s biggest palm oil company Wilmar destroyed an entire village killing 40 homes to clear 40,000 hectares of land for plantation. Some say Palm oil is not too good for us because it is high in saturated fat.

Our poor orangutans their homes are being attacked by us we just will not let them go, over 100,000 orangutans have been killed in the best 20 years why are we doing this? Sadly in 2006 1.500 orangutans had been cubed to death because of us. 50% of orangutans have declined over the past 10 years, and we only have 6,300 Sumatran orangutans left.

DID YOU KNOW

Around 50% of palm oil is in packaged foods in our supermarkets!

It is just not Orangutans that have a problem with killing palm oil trees Elephants, pygmy, and the Sumatran Rhinos also have been affected due to us and kill palm oil trees.

These palm oil trees were originally found in west and south-west Africa!

Dr Emma Keller worker of the WWF (worldwide fund for nature) told Newsround “Palm oil is in close to half of the products we buy in the supermarket- in everything from shampoos and soaps to pizzas and biscuits. It’s everywhere”

Doing all of this can cause climate change!

Amnesty international said towards the end of 2016 that young kids also helped with the production of cutting down these palm oil trees in Indonesia.

We need to stop the plantation of palm trees and to stop us from cutting these beautiful humans’ habitat. We are destroying our land our society people we need to make a change to this now please sign this petition to keep our animals safe and not left mortified.
