The Issue

As a platform for young people, we believe in the power of young voices to drive positive change in our communities and the country. Our recent forum highlighted a critical issue that demands immediate attention: the need for Ghana's government to establish a Public Health Emergency Fund.

In light of recent global health crises and ongoing challenges within our healthcare system, it has become evident that Ghana requires a dedicated fund to support preparedness and response to public health emergencies. We, therefore, through this petition, call on the government of Ghana to establish a Public Health Emergency Fund to support preparedness against future health emergencies and aid adequate response in the form of healthcare delivery during these health emergencies. Additionally, we urge the government to allocate funds from the COVID-19 levy as a source of funding for the PHEF. We believe that establishing this fund would provide essential resources, including medical logistics, equipment, risk communication, infrastructure, and personnel training, to effectively respond to disease outbreaks and other health emergencies.

As young people, we have a vital role in advocating for this fund's establishment. As future leaders of our country, we recognize the importance of investing in public health infrastructure to ensure the well-being of our citizens and the resilience of our nation in the face of health crises.

By signing this petition, you are adding your voice to our call for action. Together, we can demonstrate the widespread support for a Public Health Emergency Fund and urge the government of Ghana to prioritize the health and safety of its people.

Join us in making a difference and shaping a healthier future for Ghana. Let's stand together as advocates for change and ensure that our voices are heard where it matters most.

Sign the petition today and let's create a stronger, more resilient healthcare system for all!
