Governor Heineman is a strong supporter of the Defense of Marriage Amendment (DOMA) as telling by his statement: “I am extremely frustrated for Nebraskans that a federal judge has seen fit to overturn an overwhelming vote in support of marriage between a man and a woman,” Gov. Heineman said. “I am pleased the Attorney General is appealing this decision, and I am hopeful that this unfortunate ruling will be overturned.”
