Join Our Rally for Small Business Month
The Issue
Each May for the last five decades, the Small Business Administration (SBA) has promoted National Small Business Week. This seven-day observation dishes out plenty of education, awards, and other recognition for local entrepreneurs.
But times have changed. After a plethora of physical and economic suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, small businesses continue to hurt—if they survived this long at all.
This painful truth means everyday folks and entire families have shuttered their entrepreneurial dreams for good. Communities are now grappling with empty storefronts. And would-be business owners, including recent college graduates and veterans, are at a loss for the next chapter of their lives.
Now, we’re petitioning the Small Business Administration to designate the entire month of May as National Small Business Month. It’s a small but meaningful gesture to show our support for these vital neighborhood lifelines.
The good news is we already have a lot of support. According to a recent poll from Business.org, 75% of small-business owners surveyed support recognizing small businesses for an entire month. Now we need your support to send our voices to Washington, DC. Will you help us designate May as National Small Business Month?
