Here are some things you can do, if you have a little more time.
- Ask your spouse/partner and children at these schools to consider signing the petition.
- Make sure to send email feedback to qandafamilies@cap.education as well as signing the petition. There’s a template at top of the petition. CAP needs to report to the Regional Schools Commissioner how many objections have been received. Be sure to use the word “objection” in your email.
- Email the headteacher of your school and politely ask them that as part of a fair and open consultation to distribute the petition via ParentMail to their governing body, their staff, their student, and parents and families. Use the words “fair and open consultation”.
- If you have contacts at Cambridge News, Cambridge Independent, CU Varsity, and other local press outlets, please email them the petition and ask them to cover it.
- Spread the word on your social networks. Email, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Kate and I helped get this going, but please feel empowered to act directly and to share ideas for how to proceed. Use comments. You are participating in local democracy!
We’ve made a good start, but after next Thursday CAP may immediately press on with a business case to the Regional Schools Commissioner. We need to work hard over the next week!
Thank you.
