Johns Hopkins University: Give students basic Minecraft accounts

Johns Hopkins University: Give students basic Minecraft accounts
Why this petition matters
The Education Edition of Minecraft lacks many of the aspects of Minecraft that makes it fun and enjoyable for students. Namely, they are unable to play multiplayer together in large numbers, negating the intention for Minecraft to be an environment that fosters team building and community for the entire student body.
Giving students the opportunity to play with each other and interact using a variety of different minigames and features that are only available for traditional Minecraft will only serve to help bolster the Hopkins community and keep us connected in this unprecedented time.
Moreover, the educational version is behind on Minecraft updates, which will likely turn off many of the players who play this game daily and will serve as a factor that pushes people from actively playing this version.
But the biggest setback of edu is that "Minecraft education edition only allows up to 30 players to play together at once, meaning that big virtual events like lighting up the quad and orientation will be extremely boring and awkward. Hopkins might not realize this feature about Edu Edition and gave us the wrong version by accident. I have sent emails to suggest Hopkins to give us the Java edition accounts instead -- more signatures on this petition will greatly help, too. With Java (normal Minecraft with very large server capacities) accounts, we can actually enjoy the team-bonding experiences of Minecraft and engage with all new students; but without it, Minecraft is essentially useless. We appreciate your support!
All in all, it'll be better for students to have the opportunity to play on the normal version of the game, rather than the educational version.
Let us show Hopkins that while we're grateful for Minecraft accounts, giving us Educational accounts would only be a disservice to Minecraft and us students.
