Tell Tyson to "Clean up its Act" for a More Just and Sustainable Food System

The Issue

People want to be confident that the food they eat has been produced and processed ethically, without any adverse effects on the environment or society.

As one the country's biggest food companies, Tyson has an obligation to its customers  to ensure that its products are produced and processed ethically, responsibly and safely. Criminal investigations and multi-million dollar fines from water pollution from Tyson facilities that threaten the health of local communities, the continued use of crates for gestating sows by Tyson-contracted farmers - an extreme form of institutionalized animal cruelty - and violations of worker health and safety standards that put thousands of Tyson workers at risk are examples of social and environmental impacts that threaten our food system and may undermine consumer confidence. Installing the right policies, supplier codes and management systems are essential first steps to building consumer confidence, and a more  just and sustainable food system.

This Food Day, help us tell Tyson it needs to do its part to help make our food system more just and sustainable!
