Save our Dufferin Grove homes!

Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) is advancing plans to sell five houses (8 rental units) on Sylvan Avenue and Havelock Street. These properties are all currently occupied, some by tenants that have lived here and contributed to the community for 25 years.

Many of those affected play an active role in keeping Dufferin Grove Park clean and safe, and are integral to the fabric of the friendly, diverse neighbourhood we are all proud of.

We believe that by selling these properties and ousting people from their homes, TCHC would be unpicking the stitches of our beloved community. Further, TCHC would eradicate one of the last pockets of affordable housing in our neighbourhood at a time where average rental prices in the City have risen 30% in the last 6 months, a move that would directly conflict with the ethos of the City's Housing Charter.
