Open The Doors: 24h homeless shelters open to everyone

Open The Doors: 24h homeless shelters open to everyone
The Issue
Homelessness, simply defined, is the absence of a place to live.
235, 000 canadians experience homelessness each year and 5,253 torontonians are homeless sleeping outdoors and in emergency shelters and Violence Against Women shelters in Toronto.
Toronto is facing the worst shelter crisis in the past 23 years. The numbers of homeless people sleeping on the streets is skyrocketing and the city is doing nothing to stop it.
Last christmas, an average of 850 people spent the night in crowded drop-in spaces and churches, sleeping on mats only inches apart, in chairs, and on bare floors.
We want to open shelter doors to all citizens of Toronto who are struggling to make ends meet.
