My friend and I were having a conversation about Woodstock coming back. We were wondering why it’s extremely overpriced now, when in 1969, it was free to the public and known as “Three Days of Peace and Music.” It was an anti-war and anti-hatred music festival that brought millions of people together. We feel society has changed, especially with how we give money the power that it has today. It seems like we don’t really find ourselves coming together anymore. We judge each other on whether someone is wealthy or poor. Sure, there are things that have brought us together. However, our country and the world have changed so much. It seems as if some people just want in for the money, not to set people free with music. Which is what I think we need in the world right now–the music festival that brought people together in the time of wanting peace and love, not war and hatred. Let’s free our minds at no charge, and let’s show not just the country – but the world– that we need to come together as one. Not apart, broken and divided.
