Let Ashley Hall walk the graduation stage with her Richmond Hill classmates

Let Ashley Hall walk the graduation stage with her Richmond Hill classmates
The Issue
We need your help. I started this online petition in an effort to get the Richmond Hill, GA school district to allow Ashley (my daughter) to walk the graduation ceremony on 19 May.
We moved to Richmond Hill from Ft Drum, NY just prior to this school year (her senior year). The bottom line is she is graduating with a reciprocal diploma from the Indian River School district in NY after finishing up what she needed at Richmond Hill High School. The administrators here are telling us she cannot participate in the graduation ceremony simply because she will not receive a GA diploma.
So, because I had to move my family she’s being denied the opportunity to participate in a once in a lifetime ceremony. It’s repulsive to me that a child is being denied this opportunity as a result of circumstances that were totally out of her control and for really no good reason.
We’re not asking for the School district to do anything special; we simply want them to read her name and allow her to walk the stage just like any other graduate. Whether her diploma reads GA or NY should make no difference under these circumstances. She didn’t ask for this and to be denied this opportunity simply because an administrator doesn’t think she should walk makes no sense whatsoever to me.
We have made contact with the GA Attorney General’s office and the GA Department of Education and I will be contacting our local congressman tomorrow. Time is working against us so please get your friends to help us harness the power of Social Media to affect change for her.
Disseminate as far and as wide as you can and thanks in advance.
