Remove animals from 8924 Strawberry Lane to Shelters & Press any applicable neglect charges

The Issue

The pony, horse (now deceased), dogs and chickens at this residence have been consistently neglected for nearly a year.  Despite many complaints to every available agency we are told that IL Dept of Ag has jurisdiction and will not remove these animals.

The owners of the animals do not feed them on a regular basis and the pony only meets IL Dept of Ag body condition scores due to the kindness of several neighbors who are feeding him.

Another horse passed away in  November 2013 from starvation or complications of malnutrition as evidenced by the bark peeled off the trees in the tiny dry lot yard these animals are in.  The neighbors have photographic evidence that the horse arrived in good condtion though the owner states it was "sick".

The neighbors are also witness to deceased dogs and long periods of time where the owner does not come out to this property where the animals are located.

Only after TV film crews and public outcry did the owner begin to meet basic daily care needs this month but neighbors have documented several days again where no one has shown up to care for these animals.

The roller coaster needs to stop.  The State of IL states that the pony doesn't meet removal guidelines based on body condition.

We would like to petition them to reconsider and remove these animals to shelters based on the State of IL and Sangamon County Animal Welfare codes that state the owner is responsible to give food/water daily.

We would also like to petition Il State's attorney Milhiser to bring charges against the owner for the neglect of the pony, dogs and chickens.  There are current charges filed that go to court tomorrow, 2-19-14, regarding neglect of the deceased horse.  (Pictured below)
