I am so happy you are seeing the urgency and seriousness of the present failings of the DWP to support women. There is no doubt it can feel like the system is battering you when support is dropped. You have been left financially vulnerable by the perpetrator. Plus your whole psychi is vulnerable as you have had constant mental beatings and abuse by your perpetrator. You have been told over and over again you are worthless... in words I cannot print in this petition. You begin to believe you are worthless. Then the system gives you a message you are not worthy of helping. Truly in depression you could feel like committing suicide and completely give up on yourself. But I am here to tell you WOMEN VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE AND ABUSE HAVE AS MUCH RIGHT TO LIFE AS EVERYONE ELSE. We have a worth a self worth and a worth to society but we need the time to heal and detox from the physical, mental and financial abuse upon our very being. The post traumatic syndrome means we have flashbacks to the beatings and the abuse. The letters of drop in support from the DWP bring back to all the vile horrors of all you have been through. We need to move forward on our journey to well being not constantly be brought back to the pain by a failing system! it is so sad as we have been good wives, mothers often working like crazy to keep the family together, putting up with abuse for years to keep families together. But we have fallen foul to criminal perpetrators that have another agenda of control and use of their victim prey. They all need to be brought to accountability but not all are so are free to prey on others. We really do need a STRONG AND STABLE PATHWAY OF SUPPORT to help us rebuild our lives and our confidence.
