This rule will decrease Medicaid reimbursement rates up to 27% of current rates for home health nurses and aides. In 2010 the base rate for a nurse was $54.95. In 10/2011 we were reduced 3% for a base rate to $52.20. In 2015 Ohio Medicaid is proposing to reduce RN base to $45.40 and LPN base rate to $37.90 which is an astronomical rate reduction to continue business as is. This unrealistic rate reduction would have a devastating outcome on home care employees and its consumers. This rule will cause difficulty retaining quality staff due to unavoidable wage decreases.
