Hello Everyone, If you have been living under a rock for the past few days, obviously you haven't heard the news by now. Glenn Frey of the Eagles passed away on Monday. This was by far the biggest shock of news I've heard in a long time. Its obvious that no one expected this to occur. I am sure everyone of you are in the same frame of mind as I am. I am sending the Frey family my thoughts and condolences during this difficult time. With that being said, the whole situation regarding the band and their appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors now is probably in limbo. Given Glenn's unfortunate and untimely death, we now have two possible clues or pieces of information coming from Glenn's passing that probably will answer part of our petition. Randy Meisner was interviewed by the New York Daily News (which I will provide for you in the link below) yesterday and he stated that he was "looking forward to this one. I was going to go to the Kennedy awards and was thinking, 'Man this could be the last time we'll all be together.' So that means that Randy WOULD INFACT BE AT THE CEREMONY. That is great news to hear but its sad too knowing that the group won't be all together again. The other piece of information regarding the former Eagles members is that in Glenn's obituary on the Eagles website, the band lists Bernie Leadon in the lineup under Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmitt. Take what you will, but it seems as if Bernie will more than likely be invited to be honored as well. This now means that Don Felder is the sole former member of the band that is up in the air regarding the ceremony if it ever takes place with the band in attendance. Assuming that Don Henley is still upset with Felder over his "bitterness" after the firing, then Don won't be invited by the band. Which I think is a travesty. If you are going to invite the two former members, it wouldn't be complete without Don Felder being there as well (even though obviously they will never be together as a complete group with Glenn gone). I will continue to use this petition to encourage the Kennedy Center Honors to invite Don to be apart of the ceremony, because its only right, and its undermining his contributions to the Eagles and their legacy.
