Hello Everyone, My legal team recently petitioned the Board of Pardons for clemency. We are hoping to get relief that I haven't been able to get through the courts. If by God's grace the board grants me a favorable recommendation, the decision will ultimately be placed in the hands of the Governor. This decision will likely be made in the coming weeks. That said, I would like to once again thank all of you for your continued support of this cause. I also want to thank my family, without whom I would have had a difficult time staying sane all these years; my attorneys, Buddy and Annie Spell and Tara Farris Zeller, of Covington, Louisiana-based Spell & Spell, who have worked tirelessly on my case; HuffPost journalist David Lohr and editor Buck Wolf, who exposed the many flaws in my conviction, making my clemency bid possible; close friend, Kenny Kaine Williams, who has spent many years spreading awareness about my case; Michael Shahin, who has been working diligently on an upcoming documentary about my case; Miguel Nunez, the private investigator who devoted his own free time to my case and secured an important affidavit from a key witness; and the many friends and fans, who have stood by me. With respect to the victim's family, I am hopeful that they will see through my positive actions in prison and the way I’ve helped others that I have proven what I haven’t been able to prove in court so far. I would also like to say that this year has certainly had its difficulties – particularly in Louisiana. My heart goes out to the thousands of families affected by what has been locally labeled "The Great Flood of 2016." No amount of words can truly define what they've had to endure, as it will take a helping hand from us all to restore their lives. As for myself, I've been fairly good considering the circumstances. I miss my family and friends. I miss traveling, performing, and the people I've met along the way. Having said all this, I come to you all again, pleading for a final push to show the Governor that we are united in this cause for justice. If you or someone you know have yet to sign my petition, I encourage you to do so, but only after a thorough review of the facts of the case. I am confident that any objective perspective would draw the conclusion that justice in this instance was indeed denied. Thanks in advance. I hope to see you all soon. -Mac
