Make Applebee's Great Again

The Issue

Applebee's used to be an institution. In the '90s it was an absolute icon of what was great about America. However, in the last two decades Applebee's has fallen off as it has failed to keep up with America's vision for itself. I therefor propose that Applebee's rebrand itself to come more in line with America as it will hopefully be in the coming decade of the 2020's. 

I firmly believe that if Applebee's makes a hard 180, and becomes a chain with relatively few restaurants serving high-quality, locally sourced products while still maintaining it's relaxed, hoaky '90s charm, it will again become America's family restaurant of choice. The American people are smitten with irony, and would love the contradiction between Applebee's as its come to be understood and Applebee's as it will become.

Further, I believe that focusing more on promoting the locally sourced alcohols that already find place in the undeniably successful happy hours will attract youths by the dozens. Making cheese sticks from quality cheese, marinara from quality tomatoes, and steaks from low-volume, high-quality farmers and butchers, sourced from within 300 miles of every Applebee's. Keep those apps half-priced, and you've got yourself the most millenial-friendly business since Instagram.

That is my vision of the future. That is the America I want to live in.
