My name is Alex, and I am the founder of the Reactivate the Delaware State Guard Movement and my mission is to reactivate Delaware's State Defense Forces. 

What is a State Defense Force?

A state defense force is a volunteer military organization that is solely controlled by the state. Some examples of State Defense Forces you may have heard are the Virginia Defense Force, New York Guard, Maryland Defense Force, Georgia State Defense Force and the California State Military Reserve (There are many others, but these are the most well know in my opinion). State Defense Forces allow for people looking to help their local communities while serving their state.

Why should Delaware have a state defense force? (or reactivate it) 

I believe that a state defense force in Delaware will provide a positive asset to Delaware by giving people an outlet to volunteer their time and give people opportunities to learn new skills while serving the state of Delaware. (Ex: Disaster relief)

How will this petition change anything? 

I am hoping that this petition will bring awareness to people in power and hope that our grassroots cause will reactivate Delaware's State Defense force.
