Episode of Reasonable Doubt focusing on his case:

In 2002 Corey Miller was wrongfully convicted of killing a 16 year old in a Harvey nightclub. Corey Miller has been in prison for nearly 20 years without a murder weapon ever being found to tie him to the crime. The conviction was based on two eye-witness testimonies and no other evidence such as DNA. This is problematic due to eye witness reports notoriously being highly unreliable. There were also several 911 calls at the time of the incident with no one naming him as the shooter. It wasn’t until a week later that he was arrested and the eyewitnesses (who had existing warrants) have since said that they were pressured by the prosecutors.
Recently in 2019 the two eye witnesses recanted their original statement of Corey Miller’s guilt with one stating that he was pressured by investigators with being charged for a crime that he was under investigation for at the time. To receive leniency he named Corey Miller as the assailant.
Corey Miller has also appealed the Louisiana Amendement that allowed a jury to reach a verdict with a 10 to 2 majority instead of making a unanimous decision. The Supreme Court has recently repealed this “Jim Crow” Jury Law in Louisiana and now requires a unanimous decision among jurors.
Despite these new developments Corey Miller was still denied a retrial in 2019. He has been in jail for years serving a lifetime sentence for a crime he did not commit. We ask that John Bel Edwards pardons Corey Miller for discrepancies within his case and new developments within the justice system.
