On April 26th, 2018, Carthage College freshman Griffin Schumow was struck and killed by a truck while attempting to cross Hwy 32/Sheridan Road in Kenosha. He was leaving Smeds Tennis Center and the student parking lot, 'V Lot', and attempting to cross back to the Carthage campus. The goal of this petition is to prioritize student, faculty and visitor safety by requesting a crosswalk near the south entrance of V Lot. We hope that the crosswalk will prevent another tragic student death from occurring by creating a safe place for people to cross a busy section of state highway.
