"James Madison University (JMU) Sports are the front porch to the University" as stated by President Jon Alger and Athletic Director Jeff Bourne on numerous occasions. JMU has made its national branding a stated goal. Remaining in a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) athletic conference is not consistent with achieving national branding. JMU must make a stated announcement to move to a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) athletic conference prior to July 1, 2016. We, the proud students, alumni, fans of JMU and its athletics, demand action in order to achieve national branding and see our University become a growing brand and give our affiliations and degrees from JMU more credibility and recognition.
