Dear Lammie,
I came to know you when some of my friends campaigned for your release to a sanctuary. I didn't know it then, but soon found out that you were born in captivity, like your parents. Your family passed away because they couldn't stand the rigors of being confined to such a small enclosures and being watched by thousands of people.
I want to let you know that I am saddened and heartbroken by your situation. You don't deserve to have been in captivity for all of these years. Humans should know better. We all have family bonds and relationships, and my heart breaks to know humans have deprived you of these kinships.
My biggest fear is extinction; humankind should have done more to guard and preserve the Earth and all of the wonderful creatures living on it. Humans are weak, and we don't value what we don't understand. I sincerely hope we can connect this in future generations. I hope that, through education, we can break away from the destructive path we have created for you and our animal siblings.
Forever grateful for your presence,
Josie
