The Issue

Joel gets stuff done. Texas need doers, not talkers.

He is a friend of ours and to many. He's been our contractor helping us transform our home into the perfect place for our family.  During the course of our renovation, the July 4 floods swept through Central Texas.

Joel drove straight to Hunt as the floodwaters were coming in, working through the night to rescue people. He then stayed and kept returning the rest of the summer, coordinating teams of volunteers and personally participating in the recovery of dozens of souls. During this time, he witnessed extraordinary generosity of everyday Texans, and was simultaneously frustrated with the official response and delivery of resources.

Joel is a husband & father first. He has been a full time cop, current part-time Hays County Peace Officer and full time small business owner. He treats all people right, no matter who they are or where they are from. He believes in hard work and personal responsibility. He fiercely defends our freedoms, is highly focused on safety of all Texas, while also believing in fair systems for everyone: good schools, strong communities, safe work places, and a legal system that can actually be accessed by every day people.

KEY PLATFORM COMPONENTS:

  • Elected officials should be honest, fair, and respectful. They should focus on their actual job representing and delivering for Texans.
  • Overhaul emergency management systems to prioritize effective rapid response.
  • Reform the state civil court system so regular people can able access civil justice in everyday matters that affect our communities, families, schools & businesses.
  • Overhaul the foster and mental health system.
  • Expand access to high-quality and affordable medical care.
  • Gather ongoing citizen input on quality of life and small business issues that need reform, and mobilize the state government to find solutions. Modernize systems for licensing, construction, zoning, contracts, permits, etc.
  • Focus on Texas, not on Washington.

5,000 in-person registered Texas voters must sign by December 8 to get Joel on the ballot! This online petition is only a sign of moral support. To join the movement, sign this petition and you'll be contacted with information about signing the official signature gathering drive.
