Bernie Sanders' Thurgood Marshall plan is built around an issue that educators hold dear: reinvesting in public education. This plan includes equitable funding for schools, a minimum teacher salary of $60,000, and an end to for-profit charter schools among other points. It's no wonder that teachers make up the largest profession contributing to his campaign.

Bernie Sanders also has pro-union policies. He plans to double union membership, protect pensions for workers, place federal protections on our right to strike, and increase bargaining power. Bernie believes in strong unions.

NEA endorsed Joe Biden for president with very little input from rank and file members. There was no survey sent out for presidential preference. Where was our say in the decision making process? This primary cycle isn't over and Joe Biden is not the right choice for public education. Bernie Sanders is the best choice for education.

Educators across the country are suffering, and we have fought back through large-scale collective action, walk-outs, etc. Bernie's plan would elevate our profession. Can Biden guarantee any of that?
