Tuesday January 29th an Augusta committee voted to proceed with a proposed change to the Adult Entertainment Ordinance.  This would allow for the existing strip club owner to be able to transfer his business license to his heir upon his death.  This basically means that the deal reached decades ago between this club owner and the City of Augusta would no longer be valid which ensured that the strip clubs would close at the time of his death.

This vote was done very quickly and without any input from the public allowed.  The full commission vote is scheduled very quickly for next Tuesday the 5th at 2pm in Room 806 Municipal Building, 530 Green Street.   Please sign this petition opposing this change to the ordinance and please email or call your county commissioner and encourage them to NOT approve this change.

If approved downtown Augusta will be stuck with strip clubs forever.  If approved this ordinance will benefit ONE individual while sacrificing an entire block and section of Broad Street.  It is being crammed down our throats quickly while the strip clubs owner is ill in the hospital.  It is being rushed and pushed on us before that owner passes away. 

Lets reclaim our city and ask them to live up to the agreement already in place and lets put a final end to the strip clubs in Augusta.
