Sara was 22 years old when she was sentenced to 27 years for a non violent first time drug offense. She has a clemency petition pending it’s C285424 she has three kids and a mother who has a form of MS and needs her home. Sara has Missed all of her three kids childhood the kids need their mom. All her son wants is for his mom to watch him walk the stage when he graduates and her girls are at an age when they need their mother the most. She has gotten her GED  and has learned multiple trades while there she is a model prisoner and needs to be home .Sara’s mother is on a walker and is in so much pain everyday but she gets herself up and out of bed every day so she can take care of Sara’s Brother’s  kid and her twin sisters youngest child . Her mother has a hard time taking care of the kids but she didn’t want them in foster care so she does what is needed to get up and get the kids off to school every day. Her mother prays for her to come home everyday the longer it is the closer her mom is to being in a wheelchair full time . The heat of the stove burns her hands because of the MS but she doesn’t complain she prays her daughter will come home to take care of her kids and help her with the two boys so she can go see doctors and see if they can help her MS right now she is just treating the symptoms till her daughter is released. Her mother has not been able to grieve the loss of her son because she knows she has to stay strong. Her husband works 16 hour days to support them and is too tired to help Sara’s mom with the kids he tries but it’s very difficult on both of them.
