Help Prevent Deforestation in the U.S.

Hello my name is Abby. I am 12 years old. I have loved animals and the environment for as long as I can remember. I feel that even if you are young you can still make a difference in the world.
Deforestation is a big problem all around the world including the United States. Every year, forests that took years to grow are being cut down in minutes and being used to build houses and businesses throughout the US. The needs of people are excelling the needs to keep our forests healthy.
In the long run, each time we cut down a forest, it harms the ecosystem and it's biodiversity. Trees help absorb the carbon-dioxide that is released by cars and other manufacturing facilities. Forests are also a popular place for other plants and animals to live and grow. Trees can provide homes for birds and many other critters. Once a tree dies, fungi help break it down and another tree can grow.
There are many non-profit organizations that are fighting to prevent deforestation. I think that the more people we get to help fight for this cause the better. Deforestation is a big problem. If people do not act fast, our ecosystem will become unbalanced. We can make a difference!!
