Grant Clemency for Michael A. Mason

Clemency Petition for Michael Mason 05086-027

President Joe Biden:

Mr. President,

Michael Mason is a non-violent first time offender sentenced to die in prison for drugs and an firearm offense. He was 22 years old at the time of his arrest, and as a result, he's spent more than half of his life in prison. Michael makes no excuse for the conduct that led to his incarceration, other than his immaturity and his underdeveloped sense of responsibility. He allowed his irrational thinking to pave a path that was oblivious to him, and as a result, those decisions cost him his freedom, family, his entire life.

Mr. President, Michael is deeply ashamed of the crimes he committed as a youth. He knows he can't change the past, so he refuses to live in it. He's allowed his imprisonment and the harsh reality he wakes up to every morning to change his heart, mind, and character. He's committed his life to Christ, and the young men who may be headed down the same road that he was lost on. He's written a book titled, "From Street Block to Cell Block," to and for those same young men as a deterrent. Mr.' President, I could list so many accomplishments of Michaels from over the years, but this is the one he's most proud of, because it may save lives.

Mr. President, you stated in your State Of The Union, that this was a country of REDEMPTION, and that's what we seek here today for Michael. Michael's never had an second chance, but we pray you'll give him one. Thank you for your time!
